When I google`ed for the usage of web in teaching and learning, I came across the writing in blog Teachers: Could Do Better? While I was keeping an interested eye on comments being made by some of the teachers…there's no doubt teaching can be a tough gig, and it's not suitable for everybody. Many of us use the internet or the "web" (world wide web) as a source of information. In education, the web is increasingly used both as a learning tool to support formal programmes and as a means of delivering online learning programmes. What can educators do to ensure that the potential of the web is used effectively to support both their own learning and that of their students?
Much of the literature on web based learning shows that one of the main barriers to the effective use of teaching materials is the technology, for example, slow response time or downloading and poor access rather than the design of the teaching and learning materials themselves. I am a dietitian and I have ever tried to search through internet to find some educational materials in order to teach the kids regarding the healthy eating lifestyle. I found that it was very useful as the educational materials are simple and attractive but one thing is I have to modify them to incorporate our local culture and my own idea.Cheers!!!
